Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We treat that as an ongoing target that we keep testing against, so we don't claim the site is perfect.
What we've built in
- Keyboard access. Every link, button, and menu works with a keyboard. Menus close with the Escape key, and a "Skip to content" link appears when you press Tab.
- Visible focus. The element you're on is outlined clearly as you tab through the page.
- Clear structure. Each page has one main heading and headings in order, plus landmarks for the header, navigation, main content, and footer.
- Text alternatives. Photos have descriptions, decorative icons are hidden from screen readers, and buttons have names.
- Readable contrast. Text and buttons are checked against contrast minimums.
- Resizable text. Pages reflow when you zoom in or enlarge text, with no sideways scrolling on phones.
- Large touch targets. Buttons and menu items are sized for thumbs.
- Reduced motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, the site turns its animations off.
- Labeled forms. Form fields have visible labels and error messages that say what to fix.
- Works without scripts. All content and links are available even if JavaScript is turned off.
How we test
We run automated accessibility audits on the site's page templates and check keyboard navigation by hand. Automated tools don't catch everything, so your feedback matters.
Known limits
- Links to outside websites, such as Google Maps, lead to content we don't control.
- Photos are described in text, but a short description can't carry every detail of an image.
Tell us about a problem
If you run into a barrier, please tell us:
- the page you were on,
- what you were trying to do,
- the device, browser, and any assistive technology you were using.
